We’re excited to share some big news: Marie Norrbrink is joining Rapid Images as our new CEO!
With a strong background in leadership and a passion for driving growth through creativity and innovation, Marie is ready to lead Rapid into its next chapter. To get to know her a little better, we sat down with Marie for a quick Q&A.
Haha, this question makes me feel old — my journey could make for a very long answer! I’ll try to keep it brief. After studying Engineering Physics at Chalmers, I began my career in product development for medtech products in Stockholm. Love brought me back to Gothenburg, where I landed my first role in consultancy.
In 1999, at age 32, I became both a first-time mom and a first-time manager, leading a software and electronics team developing printers. From there, I continued in various leadership roles, both in Sweden and abroad.
A pivotal year was 2011, when I transitioned from embedded systems to IT and sales at HiQ. One of my first customers was Volvo Cars, who needed a new global intranet for 20,000+ employees. My company at the time had no SharePoint expertise, but instead of a technical presentation, we created a cartoon film illustrating life after the launch. That pitch won us the project and became my first step toward Rapid.
That experience set me on a digital innovation journey, navigating the intersection of marketing and technology with both technical and creative teams. Together we delivered projects like the Event app for the European Championship in Athletics, ToGo for Västtrafik, CarPay for Volvofinans Bank, and VR solutions for Skanska, among many others.
In 2020, I was headhunted by Capgemini, a company with 350,000+ employees worldwide, and earlier this year I became regional head at Sogeti (a Capgemini company). But then, late this spring, I got a call about the CEO role at Rapid. Since I had just joined Sogeti, my first reaction was to decline — but the person who reached out insisted I should at least come by and meet the team. And that’s when I realized Rapid was something special.
The person who first reached out knew both my background and Rapid really well and was convinced we’d be a great match. They were right — it was love at first sight. From the moment I walked in, I felt at home in Rapid’s creative and innovative environment.
What struck me most were the people: genuine, value-driven, and with a true entrepreneurial spirit. The challenges and opportunities ahead, especially how GenAI will transform our business, are incredibly inspiring to me. I’m excited to work alongside the team to keep delivering excellence through creativity and technology, while also contributing to Rapid’s growth and scaling. I’m so glad I changed my mind and took that meeting — and I hope you’ll be glad, too.
I see enormous untapped potential in our company and team. OneCX truly sets us apart from the competition. I’m amazed that a small Gothenburg-based company can attract major global brands as clients, as Rapid Images has done. Large companies typically prefer to work with other large firms, so you should be proud of what you’ve accomplished.
I know the team has faced tough times, but I hope you'll soon see that the future is looking brighter. With focus and teamwork, I believe we can unleash all the untapped potential within Rapid and I am really excited to get to do this with the Rapid team and together celebrate our successes.
I see us continuing as leaders in our field. To achieve this, we must embrace new technologies and at the same time remain artistic. We need to adopt trends early and deeply understand our customers’ needs and challenges. We need to figure out how to leverage new technologies, what they mean for our business models, and how we deliver our services. This won’t be something I tackle alone—it will be a team effort.
OneCX gives us a competitive advantage and will be a strategic pillar for the future. We’ll continue developing OneCX, adding new features and tailoring it for specific segments and industries.
We currently rely on the superheroes within our company and we can't clone them! Instead, we need to build structure and scalability to realize our full potential and continue partnering with major global brands.
I’m a former handball player who loves challenges and adventures. I’ve completed the New York Marathon, and my family and I bake the best “kladdkaka” ever.
We couldn’t be happier to have Marie on board and are looking forward to the journey ahead. Stay tuned — exciting things are coming for Rapid, our team, and our partners.
P.S We can confirm that she does not lie about the kladdkaka.
